Delete Your Protorb Account
Effective: February 12, 2026
We're sorry to see you go! You can delete your Protorb account using either of the methods below.
⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be deleted, including your profile, likes, comments, and submissions.
Method 1: Delete In-App (Instant)
Recommended Method: Delete your account directly from the Protorb app.

Open the Protorb app on your device

Navigate to Profile → Tap the settings icon (⚙️) in the top right

Scroll down to the bottom of the settings menu

Tap "Delete Account" (shown in red text)

Confirm deletion by typing "Delete Account" and tapping the confirmation button
Processing Time: Immediate - your account is deleted instantly
Method 2: Request Deletion via Email
If you can't access the app: Contact our support team to request account deletion.

Include in your email:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your account email address
- Your username (if you remember it)

Wait for confirmation: We'll verify your identity and process your request
Processing Time: Within 48 hours (usually faster)
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile Information: Display name, username, email, bio, avatar
- Social Activity: All likes, comments, and follows
- Submissions: Any websites you've submitted (approved games remain in the feed but are unattributed)
- Authentication: Your Firebase account and login credentials
- Settings & Preferences: All app settings and customizations
Data Retention
After deletion:
- Immediate: Your account becomes inaccessible and you are logged out
- 30 days: Most user data is permanently deleted from our systems
- 90 days: Backup copies are purged from our backup systems
- Legal retention: Some anonymized analytics data may be retained for legal compliance (e.g., crash reports, aggregate usage statistics)
Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives:
- Take a break: Simply log out and don't use the app for a while
- Adjust settings: Disable notifications or change privacy settings
- Contact support: If you're having issues, we're here to help at support@protorb.com
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I recover my account after deletion?
No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You would need to create a new account if you want to use Protorb again.
Will my submitted games be removed?
Approved games you've submitted will remain in the feed but will no longer show your name as the creator. Pending submissions will be deleted.
How long does deletion take?
In-app deletion is instant. Email requests are processed within 48 hours.
What if I change my mind?
If you delete your account in-app, there's no way to undo it. If you've sent an email request but haven't received confirmation yet, contact us immediately at support@protorb.com to cancel the request.
Do you keep any of my data?
We retain some anonymized analytics data (crash reports, usage statistics) for legal compliance and service improvement. This data cannot be linked back to you personally.
